Exploration Green is one of Houston’s most innovative and praised urban environmental projects. Located in Clear Lake, this massive 200-acre nature reserve and stormwater detention area is being developed in multiple phases. Phase 3A is part of the third expansion zone, including restored native wetlands, hike-and-bike trails, and reforested.. Exploration Green is a community driven restoration/infrastructure project. The location was previously a golf course that is being restored to a community greenspace and set of stormwater retention ponds that can hold up to 500 million gallons of stormwater.
